One of the things that churches ask us about more than anything else is what they need to do to have great communication. Obviously that can be a long answer, but there are some keys that must be in place above everything else. Below is a quick video where I walk through the 8 Keys every church needs to put in place to have great communication. After you watch the video, I would love to hear from you in the comments below. Here’s my question for you: what is the single biggest challenge your church has when it comes to communication?
Now that all of the New Year’s resolution smoke has cleared – let’s face it, it’s February and 99% of those pipe dreams are already in the garbage – I want to challenge you to think about setting some very real, very tangible goals to improve your church’s communication in 2016.
More than ever, communication is one of the MOST IMPORTANT aspects of your leadership. We live in the golden age of communication, and if you’re not doing it well then your message is getting lost in the noise and clutter. But don’t worry, you’re not alone and it can easily be fixed.
There’s a good chance that someone you know, maybe even someone in your church has been affected by the recent situation where millions of broken people have been exposed through the leak of the Ashley Madison subscribers list.
The challenge for many in the Christian community is what do we do about it? How do we handle this? What do we say? It’s a tough situation to be sure, but I’m very excited to share two amazing resources with you that can help you and your church cope.
In this final week leading up to Easter, I was reminded of a video we created back in 2008 called ‘He’s Gone’. This was the very first ‘cinematic’ type of thing I ever wrote and produced. A lot has changed since then (not the least of which is exponentially better cameras) but I took a little trip down memory lane this morning and found it still holds up pretty well. It’s available as a FREE DOWNLOAD in case anyone is still looking for a last minute element for this Sunday.
To download, simply click the ‘Vimeo’ icon on the video and it will take you to a page with a download button.
There’s a new year on the horizon and that’s the time when we all start thinking about what we want to do different this next time around. As a church leader that often means trying to figure out ways to improve across the board – how to increase attendance, giving, volunteerism, discipleship, overall buy in, etc…
You can try and attack these things individually OR you can address the one issue that affects EVERYTHING in your church all at once – communication.
